Tripoli Skatepark in Libya
The concept behind our annual Giveback Friday campaign is simple: we give back by donating a portion of our proceeds to support Make Life Skate Life’s incredible work building skateparks in underserved communities worldwide.
This year, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve supported the Libyan skate community by raising funds for a new project in Tripoli.
The Tripoli Skatepark is an exciting new space that caters to skaters of all skill levels. It’s inspiring to see this project come to life, finally providing the skateboarding community in Tripoli with a dedicated place to gather, practice, and grow.
A Safe Space for Connection and Growth
Tripoli Skatepark stands as a symbol of inclusivity and unity. It’s heartening to see how this space brings together people from all walks of life, building relationships and fostering community through action sports. In a country like Libya, marked by civil war, spaces like this are vital. They don’t just offer a place to have fun – they inspire hope and connection among citizens.
The skatepark offers a range of programs, including free skateboard equipment rentals to ensure accessibility for everyone.
One of the standout aspects of Tripoli Skatepark is the support of women in skateboarding through female-only events. These provide a safe space for women and girls to develop their skills and form meaningful connections. Additionally, the park hosts weekly programs with an equal mix of boys and girls.
