How to Install a BMX Chain

Learning how to install a BMX chain can be one of the more challenging bits of maintenance for any BMX rider. So, if you're unsure of how to go about it, check out our video to learn how:

1. Start by sliding in the back wheel and tightening it by hand.
2. Now, wrap the chain around the rear gears and the sprocket.
3. Determine your overlapping chain link, and use a chain breaker to split the chain.
4. Now, put the chain back together, again using a chain breaker.
5. Next, loosely mount the chain onto the gears, and pull the wheel back until the chain is taut.
6. Lastly, tighten the rear wheel from both sides.

Your chain is now installed!
