30-Day Longboard Trip Across Europe: Interview and Travel Tips
Alex and Nico took the longboard trip of their dreams across Europe, simply searching for freedom and open roads. Their 30-day journey across Europe was filled with inspiration, unexpected encounters, and memories.
The Spark: Dreaming of a Longboard Trip
Interviewer: Alex, what ignited the idea for such an extraordinary trip?
Alex: When I was just 14, I stumbled upon a YouTube video of four guys longboarding across Germany. That image of freedom and adventure stuck with me. Life took me to Mexico, and the idea faded a bit. But then, one day, Nico approached me with this question: "Hey, are you down for an unforgettable trip?" The memory of that YouTube video instantly resurfaced, and without hesitation, I said yes!

Why Choose Longboard Travel? The Unique Appeal
Interviewer: What makes exploring Europe on a longboard so much better than other forms of travel?
Alex: You get to see a lot more of a country than if you take a train or a car, you meet a lot of people, some of them cheer and others honk at you or ask you about the trip. But most importantly is the excitement of doing what you love and traveling at the same time. You skate through impressive scenery and you just cannot stop smiling. A longboard trip is something emotional and surely just for those who seek the ultimate adventure.

Lessons Learned on the European Roads: Tips for Aspiring Longboard Travelers
Interviewer: What were some of the key things you learned during your 30-day adventure?
Alex: Spontaneity is key, but so is some upfront planning! We learned that planning your route to stick to good roads makes a huge difference to your enjoyment and speed. Don't overbook your accommodation; leave room for flexibility. And trust me on this: 50 kilometers in a day on a longboard feels much further than you might think! Pack light – my 14kg backpack quickly felt like a ton! A smaller, lighter pack is definitely the way to go

The Call of the Open Road: Why Others Should Try Longboard Touring
Interviewer: What would you say to someone considering a longboard trip across Europe? Why should they do it?
Alex: It's an experience that truly changes you. During the trip, I felt an incredible sense of happiness and release. All the everyday stress just melted away. Finally, nobody was telling me what to do; I was completely free. Skating through what felt like paradise at times is one of the most incredible feelings in the world! If you're looking for adventure and a profound sense of liberation, you absolutely have to try it.

The Flip Side: Challenges and Disadvantages of Longboard Touring
Interviewer: It can't have been all smooth sailing. What were some of the downsides?
Alex: Oh yeah, it definitely wasn't always easy! It's hard work, physically exhausting, and you have to deal with varying road conditions. Hills become your enemy, and you often have to walk them. You can't carry much with you, which can be limiting. Injuries are a real possibility, and there are times when you feel like you're barely making progress. Plus, let's be honest, some parts of countries can be quite uneventful!
The Urge to Ride Again: Future Longboard Adventures
Interviewer: After everything you've just listed, would you ever do it again?
Alex: Surely we will do it again, not in the nearer near future because my legs are still hurting but I want to revive this time again and make new experiences.

Spicy Details: Behind the Scenes of the Longboard Journey
Interviewer: Finally, give us some of the juicy details that didn't make it into your YouTube videos. What didn't people get to see?
Alex: Well, Nico and I definitely had our moments! Being together 24/7 for a whole month can test any friendship. We had our fair share of arguments, but at the end of the day, we always ended up laughing about it. Also, the videos probably made it look a bit too smooth! We fell down way more times than you saw, and there were definitely some dicey situations we managed to navigate. There was a lot more clumsy laughter and near-misses than what made the final cut!
